“…for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”
Exodus 15:26
Faith begins where the will of God is known. It is so important to know God’s character and His will for your life. In the above scripture, the Lord reveals Himself to His people as the Lord that Heals. Therefore, it is important to know that healing is God’s will for you. Disease, sickness and lack are not from God. In John 10:9-11 Jesus informed us that: “I am the door, by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. THE THIEF cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I AM COME that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” In this scripture Jesus shows very clearly that He has come to give us abundant life. Sickness is not from God, it is from the thief, (which is the devil).
Jesus says in John 10:30: “…I and my Father are one.” Therefore, whatever we see Jesus do is a direct representation of God our Father, since they are one! John 14:8-9: “Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father, and how answer thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” Therefore, the works that Jesus did were done by the Father that dwells in Him. We can then see God’s perfect will as we see what Jesus did and how He responded to those around him.
Mathew 4:23 says: “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people”. Acts 10:38 says: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good; and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
There are countless other scriptures that demonstrate God’s healing promise in action; yet just based on these few scriptures, it is clear that it is God’s will that you be made completely healthy and whole. Since this is God’s will for you, then go ahead and receive that healing and begin agreeing with what God says about you. “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Psalm 107:20
In addition, not only does God want us healed, but He wants us to operate in the gifts of the spirit and pray for others for their healing. He wants to use us to bless others and help them receive their healing. Mark 16 as well as John 14 shows us that because we believe in Jesus, the works that He did, we will do as well. We can lay hands on the sick and see them recover! What a wonderful promise to know that we are carriers of God’s power and glory! This Christmas season, let us truly show forth the goodness of God to all those around us!
