After These Messages We’ll Be Right Back

This week Youth Pastor Kel Mitchell of Spirit Food Christian in Winnetka teaches a message titled “After These Messages Will Be Right Back”. In Proverbs 16:20, we’re told that those who pay attention to God’s word will find good, and who trust confidently in the Lord will be blessed. Back in the 80s and 90s before the internet, many kids in America spent time on Saturday mornings watching cartoons. During every cartoon, right in the middle of the action, the network would cut to a commercial. The cartoon would stop, and the message “After These Messages, We’ll Be Right Back”. Of course, the network showed this message because they wanted the viewers to stay and watch the messages from their advertisers. In some ways, this is like our lives. Things in life are moving along nicely, and then suddenly everything changes. Those are the times that are opportunities for us to listen to God’s message for us. And after listening to God’s word, we can get right back to our lives, equipped with the tools that we need for victory over any situation.
