“That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. 14 When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor. 15 When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was.
Moses said to them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. 16 This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Everyone is to gather as much as they need. Take an omer[a] for each person you have in your tent.”
Exodus 16:13-14
God is the God of suddenly. He is the God of surprises. If you’ve ever been a parent you know how wonderful it is when you surprise your child with a gift or something they hadn’t even expected. God is the same way with His children. He loves to surprise us. It brings Him joy to see us happy and victorious.
We need to have an attitude of expectation. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “In everything give thanks…” and in Romans 8:28 it says: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
No matter what is going on in your life, praise God for His ability to turn it around and suddenly bring breakthrough! He will help turn the very thing that has been a challenge to you, to your benefit if you trust Him and believe He wants the best for you.
Joseph endured patiently in slavery and even prison. From an outside perspective it looked like Joseph’s life was getting worse and there was no way out for him. Not only did his own brothers conspire against him and sell him into slavery; but after some success as a slave overseeing Potiphar’s house, he was then falsely accused and thrown into prison. However, Joseph did not lose hope. He did not lose faith. He endured patiently, trusting God and His goodness. Then suddenly, overnight, everything turned around. He went from the prison cell to ruling all of Egypt; only Pharaoh was above him in status. He was then able to declare to his brothers in Genesis 50:20: “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” He forgave his brothers and brought they and their families under his protection to the land of Goshen.
Throughout the scriptures you see God’s people sometimes waiting long periods of time, and then suddenly, almost overnight, they receive their breakthrough. He often times will provide resources from places we never expected. For the Israelites, they went from wondering where they would receive their next meal, to suddenly having more than enough bread from heaven as God provided manna from heaven in abundance. When they were without water in the desert, suddenly God provided water from the rock.
For six days the Israelites compassed Jericho about and nothing appeared to happen. Yet on the seventh day they shouted and suddenly the walls fell flat!
When Zacharias was ministering in the temple and he and his wife Elisabeth had gone years unable to have children, suddenly the angel of the Lord appeared to him and let him know their prayers had been answered. Elisabeth then became pregnant with John the Baptist.
There are countless scriptures that talk about all the times the Lord suddenly turned things around for His people. He did miracles, signs and wonders time and again. He has not changed. HE is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Many times in our lives we endure a situation that seems like it will never change. However, do not give up, continue to believe God and fight the good fight of faith and suddenly it will all turn around! You will receive your breakthrough. Keep your confession of faith, standing on the promises of God and know that God is working it all for your good. He will suddenly turn things to your favor. Go ahead and rejoice now for what God is about to do in your life! He is full of wonderful surprises. Thank Him now, before you even see it, trusting He’s a good Daddy!
Hebrews 6:10-12
“ For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Luke 1:13-14
“But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.”
Philippians 4:4-7
“ Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Psalm 40:1-5
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.”
Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
“8 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

“I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.”

Psalm 107:21
“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
Psalm 31:19
“ Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!”
