“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So Shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:10-11
Just as you can be certain that gravity will continue to do its job and we will not all suddenly float off the earth into outer space, you can be certain that the God who established gravity, will keep His word. The very word that made the earth and everything in it, is still working today. As Hebrews 1:3 declares: “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, AND UPHOLDING ALL THINGS BY THE WORD OF HIS POWER, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Everything that enables us to live on earth, from photosynthesis, to gravity, to the rotation of the earth around the sun, is being upheld by the WORD OF HIS POWER.
The word of God will not fail, it is eternal. Hebrews 11:3 states: “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God; so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” He spoke the word once, and then from that point on the eternal word of God did its work and is still working to this day.
Therefore, when you find the promises of God in the scriptures, you can be certain that they will work in your life the same way. All you must do is mix His Word with Your Faith. Decree it, and then let the Word go to work on your behalf.
This is what God did when He spoke through the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” This word did not come to pass in the prophet Isaiah’s lifetime. However, all he had to do was decree the word of God once, and it was set in motion. The word continued to work until hundreds of years later, it was brought to pass in a small village with a young girl named Mary. Others forgot about the word, they thought it failed, but it did not. It just took longer than anyone expected. Yet, it indeed came to pass. “Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12
When you find a promise of God in the scriptures for your life, whether it be for healing, or financial provision, or anything else, then put it to work on your behalf. Decree that Word in faith over your circumstances and let the Word go to work. If it takes longer than you expect, do not give up and claim that it didn’t work. If you do not give up but continue to stand in faith and the love of God, it will surely come to pass. God’s word is eternal, it cannot quit. Keep watering that word the way you water a seed and allow it to grow and transform your life.
