“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
Isn’t it wonderful to know that whatever the enemy throws at us as believers, God is turning it for our good? Psalm 34:19 says: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” Yet, when God delivers, He never brings you out empty handed, but loaded down with blessings.
Every attack that came against Abraham was turned for his good; whether it was when the kings took his nephew Lot and he had to go to war with them to get him back, or whether he himself made the mistake by allowing his wife to be taken by a King out of fear for his life. IN EVERY CASE, God delivered Abraham and his family and he came out more wealthy on the other side.
We can look at the Israelites whom God brought out of slavery and the scriptures say they came out with silver and gold and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
When the armies warred against Jehoshaphat, and he cried out to the Lord because they were greatly out numbered, God not only delivered them by defeating the armies, but they were three days in collecting the wealth left behind.
Daniel faced various trials. He was taken as a slave into a foreign land, yet God showed him favor and he soon became one of the wise men in the king’s palace. However, the king sent out an edict to have all the wise men killed in his kingdom because none of his other “so called wise men” could tell him his dream. Yet, when Daniel heard, he and his friends prayed to God and God gave Daniel the interpretation. He then was promoted to a high position in the kingdom, along with his faithful friends. Later these same friends were put to the test when they refused to worship Nebuchadnezzar’s golden statue. They knew God would rescue them, and though they were thrown in the fire, they were not harmed. When they were brought out, they were promoted greatly in the kingdom. God’s name was also promoted in the kingdom because of it. Later, when a new king took over, an edict was made in the land that no one was to pray to any God but to the king only. Of Course, Daniel continued to pray to God openly as he always had and as a result was thrown into the lion’s den. God again miraculously protected him, and when he was brought out, he was given an even greater position of authority. God was glorified throughout the kingdom due to Daniel’s uncompromising faith in God. Time and again the scriptures recount the righteous facing various trials and overcoming them and being blessed the more for it.
What was in common with all these? They were counted righteous by their faith in God. They were faithful to His call and believed in His promises. They were willing to act on their faith. As a result, God delivered them every time. Each and every time they were promoted and increased! In addition, not only were their families blessed and all those around them blessed, but at times the entire nation was blessed for their faith walk. They all faced trials, but all were brought out better on the other side for having gone through them.
The righteous may face many trials, but God is well able to deliver and not only bring them out, but bring them to a new level of increase. No matter how bad a situation looks, God is greater than the situation. All we have to do is to resist fear and to stay in faith. Remain FAITHFULL. God will do the rest!
Psalm 66:12b
“…we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”
Galatians 3:3-4
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Proverbs 28:20
“A faithful man shall abound with blessings…”
2 Chronicles 20:22-25
And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.
Psalm 105:8-9 & 14-15 & 37-44
“He hath remembered his covenant for ever; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac…He suffered no man to do them wrong, yea he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm…He brought them forth also with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them. He spread a cloud for a covering and fire to give light in the night. The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river: For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness. And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people.”
Psalm 115:13-15
“He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.”
Psalm 107:28-30
“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.”
Psalm 107:35-38
“He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.”
Psalm 84:5-8 &11-12
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. They go from strength to strength, everyone of them in Zion appeareth before God. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of tine anointed…For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.”
Psalm 62:5-8
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
Psalm 40:1-3
“I WAITED patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”
Psalm 37:34 & 39-40
“Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land…But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.”
Isaiah 41:10 & 13 & 18 & 20
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness…For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee..I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water; and the dry land springs of water…That they may see, and know and consider; and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
Isaiah 43:2 & 5
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee, when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee… Fear not: for I am with thee.”
