“ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
1 John 4:4
If you have ever bounced a kid’s small rubber ball you may have noticed that the harder you throw it down on the ground, the higher it rebounds into the air. The reason is because of what it’s made of on the inside. What is inside the ball causes it to respond by going higher.
Likewise, the tallest trees in the world, Redwood trees and especially the species Giant Sequoias, are able to live for more than a thousand years because of what is in their bark. Their bark is extremely thick and fire resistant (especially in the mature trees) so that when a fire rages through the forest and burns up everything around it, the Redwood stays standing because of what’s in it; it’s fire resistant bark preserves it. Not only that, but the fire actually is helpful to the Sequioa Redwoods who benefit from having the heat, which opens their seed cones. The seeds are released and because the fire has cleared the foliage around it, they have good soil where they can germinate without competition from other trees. The fire actually not only doesn’t harm the tree, but it helps its future generations to grow! It clears the way for them so they can grow without struggling or competing. Think about that!
Additionally, a submarine is built to survive the great pressure of the water when it dives deep in the ocean. It’s reinforced hull and pressurized internal system protects it from the crushing pressure of the water which would normally destroy any other vessel. As a result, the submarine has an advantage in war. Since it can dive deep, it can sneak up on an enemy undetected.
We too have something inside us that causes us to not only survive adversity but have that adversity work to our benefit and even our children’s benefit. We are able to come out victorious in any situation because of the anointing that lives on the inside of us. No matter how intense the heat, no matter how extreme the pressure, we will always come out victorious because of what is in us. The Greater One lives on the inside of us. We are carriers of God’s Glory. No matter what we are going through, we just keep confessing that the Greater One lives on the inside. In addition, we keep our armor on, as in Ephesians 6, which like the bark on the Sequoia tree makes us fireproof. Our stand in faith paves the way for our future generations and works to their favor, being a blessing not only to us and those around us, but our generations to come. What the enemy meant for our evil, God surely turns for our good and our children’s good!
No matter what is going on, it is working for our good. It may seem when we are hit hard from every direction that we can’t handle the pressure or the heat; but just like that ball, because of what is in us as believers in Jesus Christ, we will rebound higher and soar to higher heights! No weapon formed against us shall prosper. If God be for us, who can be against us! The same God who’s creative force created the universe lives on the inside of every believer in Christ. There is no power in the world that compares with what we have living on the inside of us. Therefore, do not fear, trust in God and know He’s bringing you into a wealthy place! HE’s working it all for your good!
