“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36
As we celebrate our nation’s freedom this month, let us be reminded of the freedom we already have in Christ. Galatians 3:13-14 tells us: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Isn’t it wonderful to know that we are free from the curse that’s operating in this earth? When you read Deuteronomy 28, it lists the blessings that we now have through Christ and it also lists the curse that we have been redeemed from. We are no longer subject to the curse of lack, sickness or any other form of oppression listed in these verses. Instead, we are now partakers of the blessings! We are free to enjoy all that the Lord has for us.
As we get the revelation of the blessings God has for us, we can confidently trust His will for our lives. Ephesians 1 explains beautifully what we are supposed to be experiencing through our faith walk. We have all these blessings stored up for us in heaven and we are to bring them into our life here on earth by obeying what the Lord tells us to do and operating in faith. Jesus shared a wonderful formula for prayer in Mathew 6:9-13. When asked by one of His disciples how we should pray, He responded: “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…” Clearly, it’s the Lord’s will for us to have heaven on earth in our lives, otherwise He never would have told us to pray for it. There is no poverty, sickness, depression or despair in heaven. There is no hopelessness or grief in heaven. Therefore, it is not God’s will for us to have any of those things here on earth. Jesus redeemed us from all of it! As a result, we need to believe God for His best in our lives. No longer accept defeat. Instead, use your faith to enforce your victory and all the blessings the Lord has laid up for you in heavenly places. Use your faith to bring it into your life, right now on this earth.
3 John 1:2 declares: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy should prospereth.” Once we understand that this is God’s perfect will for us, we can use our faith to enforce our covenant rights. However, we can see that our prosperity is directly linked to the condition of our soul (which is our mind, will and emotions). Our thought life is crucial to our success. Proverbs 23:7 declares: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” By reading and hearing the word of God throughout the day, we can change the way our mind thinks. We can get our minds so filled with the word that it overflows in our heart. When we are convinced in our heart of God’s promises, then faith explodes, and we speak in faith. This is how we end up experiencing heaven on earth and God’s promises manifesting in our lives. We get to the place where our faith is so strong that we begin thinking and speaking in a way that causes us to prosper. We think kingdom thoughts. When we say it with our mouth and believe it in our heart, then the mountains move! Therefore, let us be diligent to study the word of God, and to immerse ourselves in it. We will then become a reflection of God’s kingdom here on earth and truly experience the freedom He has already purchased for us in Christ.
