“Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.”
Psalm 50:23
God made us in His image. He spoke all of creation into existence using His WORD. What are we speaking into existence using our words? The bible says clearly that life or death is set before us, blessings or cursing and that we are to choose life. (Joshua).
Proverbs 18:20-21 says: “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
What is the fruit of your mouth? When you speak, are you speaking life (God’s word and promises) or death (the circumstances and fear)? When you pray and believe God, the petition (request) only needs to be asked once. God hears us when we pray, so we don’t need to ask for it over and over again. We ask once and trust in His promise that it is done. However, we then need to begin our thanksgiving about it. We continue to thank Him that the promise is coming to pass and that He is faithful to keep His Word to us. We continue to confess the Word of God no matter what we see or feel. We follow up by ordering our conversation aright, even when the circumstances appear contrary. You may exercise great faith, expecting to see results, and then the next day the symptom is still there. The battle is won in our consistency. Choosing to consistently confess God’s WORD instead of the circumstance, ( the pain, the lack of finances, etc.)
When storms hit, the natural response for so many is to talk about the storm and how bad it is. Instead, we are supposed to talk to the storm, not about it. We are to be like Jesus. When the storm hit and Jesus was asleep on the pillow in the boat, the boat began to become so flooded and full of water the disciples were convinced they were going to sink. They then declared to Jesus, “Don’t you care that we die?” The disciples spoke not only the circumstances and what they saw, but they added to it. Out of fear they spoke out that they were about to die. However, Jesus didn’t speak about the storm. He simply spoke to the storm: “Peace be Still.”
Jesus knew the key is to speak the Word of God to the storm, not speak about it. He spoke Life to every situation. As we grow in our faith walk with God, we need to put a guard over our mouth and make sure we are saying only what God says; especially with our family. We need to make sure we are speaking life to our husbands/wives/children.
Faith and fear operate on the same principle. They both call those things which be not as though they were. Faith in God’s promises activates the blessing system when released out of our mouth. Fear spoken, activates the curse system. We are containers of the same force that spoke the Universe into Existence. When we become believers in Christ, God Himself dwells on the inside of us. Think of that! We have the spiritual capacity to actually contain God within us! We have great power and God made us so that power is released through Words. We are made in His Image. He used Words to create everything we can see and feel; the Galaxies, earth, all life on this planet. Our Words spoken in faith can bring life or death; activate blessings or cursings. Therefore, put a watch over your mouth and determine to only say what you hear the Father say and choose life! Choose Blessings!
James 3:10-13
“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness and wisdom.”
Mark 11:22-25
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you. What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand prying, forgive, if ye have ought against any; that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
John 6:63
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
Joshua 1:8
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest ovserve to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Deuteronomy 19:19
“…I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live…”
Mark 4:38-40
“And he [Jesus] was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow; and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so Fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”
John 1:1-4 & 10-14
“In the beginning as the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men…He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Genesis 1:1-3
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
Romans 4:16-22
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall they seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was well able to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.”
