“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21
Many believers in Christ know they need to pray and ask God for help, which is good and important. However, often they do not know to take the next step that God told us to take. After we pray and ask God for His help, it is then time to start Praising, Thanking and Decreeing. They do not realize the power that resides in them or the authority that they have been given. They often don’t realize that it is now time for them to use that power and speak to the mountain and command it to move.
Job 22:27-28 says: “Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him [God], and He shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
Mark 11:22-24 says: “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when you pray , believe that you receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Notice that Jesus does not tell us to pray to God and ASK HIM to remove the mountain. No, instead He tells US TO SPEAK to the mountain to be removed and it will come to pass. We need to use the authority that has been given to us. We need to tap into the power of God within us and make decrees concerning our situations. Whether it is health, finances, relationships or anything else, use the power God has given you and take authority over the situation with your words. Speak the promises of God over the situation.
Too often people take a passive role after they’ve prayed and asked God for help. They pray and then step back and wait for the healing, or finances or whatever it is. However, we are to take an active role. If it is healing that is needed, then speak to your body, command it to line up with the living word of God. Command sickness to go in Jesus name. Use the authority that has been given to you.
Luke 10:19 says: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Mathew 16:19 says: “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
In John 14:12-14 Jesus says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”
We have been given such great authority and power because of our faith in Christ. Jesus now dwells in our hearts and we have the very Holy Spirit living on the inside of us. We are the body of Christ and our bodies have become the temple of the living God. Yet even in the Old Testament, before people were born again, God gave His people power to make decrees and speak on His behalf.
In Exodus 6:29-30 & 7:1-2 it says: “That the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee. And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me? And the LORD said unto Moses, see, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.”
God had given Moses authority to act as a god to Pharoah and his brother Aaron as a prophet. (At the time, Moses didn’t feel qualified to speak, so God allowed his brother Aaron to be the one to speak on Moses’s behalf). God has given us authority, to do His works as Jesus did. We have Christ in us, the hope of Glory. When we operate and speak, we have authority. Moses and Aaron had authority to speak and whatever they said from God came to pass. We also are called by God to speak to our situations and circumstances the word of God and expect it to come to pass.
This year it is so important to get the revelation of the power that is in you and the authority you have in Jesus name. Start this year making decrees based on God’s promises over whatever needs to come to pass in your life. Command the situations to line up with the word of God and decree His promises concerning it. Then watch as the Mountains are removed and the Sea is parted for you to walk right through. 2022 is going to be a year of mighty signs and wonders and miracles operating in our lives. We just have to use the power and authority that has been given to us!
