ISAIAH 40:31
“…they that wait upon The LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Sometimes I wake up in the morning without a thought in my head. No God, no Satan, just blank. Then the contest begins, and the enemy strikes with a deluge of troubling thoughts: aging, traffic jams, mom gone – take your pick.
BUT THANK GOD, He made me clever enough to print out Isaiah 40:31 on a single piece of paper in a big bold font. The paper is located on top of the alarm clock, and as I reach for my glasses, my hand finds the words, which I read ALOUD. “They that wait upon the Lord…shall mount up with wings as eagles.”
Now I remember: God loves me, He blesses my day, and faith is my servant. Then I’m off to Radio Shack, the dentist, and an ultra-sound check-up.
In the middle of these challenges, I eat a nice lunch, the dentist is actually funny, and the ultra-sound technician is dressed in full costume for Halloween.
Run and not be weary. Walk and not faint. These scriptures, written out in BOLD, turn a day around. Not to mention, the costumed specialist lifts her mask and says, “It looks okay.”
