“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man.” (Romans 1: 20-23)
While reading these scriptures, I was moved to have a greater appreciation for God’s patience and love toward us, His creation. Breaking down each line, I am amazed at the audacity of man. We see all the things he has created, but don’t acknowledge Him for it, rather we take it for granted. We try to fit God into our own image of what we think He is, usually based on our lifestyle choices. And the result? We become fools!
Lord, forgive us! Thank you for your grace and mercy!!
Remember, we are made in His image, He is not made in ours.
Learn of God. Seek His face. Be teachable.
