The angels were created to carry out God’s word, and they have been given a specific responsibility and they have supernatural powers and abilities. We also learn from scripture that the Devil is an angel who has decided to go contrary to the word of God. In Luke chapter 4, we see how the devil tried to tempt Jesus by offering Jesus all the power in the world if he worshipped the devil. Despite this temptation, Jesus held fast to God’s word, where it is written that we shall only worship God. We are redeemed in Christ, and we should follow his example of how he resisted the devil. It is written, if we resist the devil then he will flee from us. We have been given angels of God to carry out God’s will.
